How Many Dogs Does it Take to Change a Lightbulb?

It's Friday's Laugh-of-the-Day. Funny that neither my Shih Tzu pup nor my smart Maltichon dog made it on the "news" clipping, but my intelligent Collie-mix did! (Son and DIL's Australian Shepherd made it too, lol).

Dogs of Summer, part 1

Some pups are unforgettably handsome and I must post abou them. This young Poodle mix and his equally young owners were in line for Mario's Italian Ice in the Little Italy neighborhood.  May I take his picture, I asked one of them.  Little boy said okay, but was really more interested in keeping his place in line for the counter. Their beautiful doggie agreed with his sentiment, so I didn't push it by distracting them or by asking too many questions (such as the  black cutie-pies name). Just took quick pictures and got out of their way. Glad that they have a firm grip on this precious pretty Pup, though.

stayed still long enough for a photo

Otherwise, he is too warm and distracted by the great aroma of FOOD and/or ICEd DRINKS to care about anything else.

Labradoodle Dog

Combine a Labrador and a Poodle; and you get a Labradoodle.  Sadie looks like a teddy bear and has  a sweet personality.  Only 6 months old at the time of these pictures which were sent to me by my Sis.

Sadie lives in a town called Sunriver with her Piano-teacher owner. Their home is large & rustic; and located next to a golf course. I'd been to the house, but this was a couple of years before Sadie was born. What I liked most about  it --other than that it was gorgeous and had two baby grand Steinway pianos in one room -- was the awesome & spectacular view of Mount Bachelor from the wall of large windows.

Poodle Molly: A true story by Helen

pc: standard poodle, wikipedia
Molly's background:   Kind people had found Molly, a poodle-mix, after noticing that a car had stopped and Molly was unceremoniously dropped-off like a sack of potatoes.  No notes, no explanations, no nothing.  They took her home, but after a while, their landlord said No, Molly was not allowed on the premises.  Sadly, they made the decision to give Molly away.

They walked-in with Molly through the animal shelter's doors right behind our friend Helen's family.  The apartment-dwelling family convinced Helen and family to adopt Molly.  From the short time they had had her at their apartment, Molly's sweet and lovable personality shone through.

Helen and her family enjoy Molly for many, many years.  She travelled everywhere with them.  They had even taken her across the border to Canada to visit with their son and his family.  Alas, on one of their Canadian trips -- Molly, already unable to walk -- was taken to the Canadian Vet for the very last time. They said their goodbyes. She crossed the rainbow bridge and was cremated.  Her ashes were put in a pretty urn, buckled in the car's back seat,  and driven back to the United States.  The N-family had their good memories and their pretty ash-filled urn, which they prominently and proudly displayed.

Molly's final destination:  Molly's standing with the family was lofty --- she deserved an even better final resting place than just a pretty container gathering dust on a shelf.  Thus, her urn was tucked-in with Helen's husband as he lay in his coffin. Their burial was the next day.

Did Helen and Family love their pet, or what?

Our very own, beloved "Molly" (not a poodle)
