I am a fan of model, Clint Bondad, though just in the past year. The Miss Universe contest brought him into my radar. That, plus he is of German-Filipino descent andwas born in Germany (birthday, Sept 27th). So like like our beloved grandson! As of this writing, he now admits to being the former BF of Miss Universe, Catriona Gray. Looks like she broke up with him even before the pageant. I am praying for Mr Bondad. Yes, he needs the Lord Jesus Christ first and foremost, but he is also vulnerable to the lies of Satan that he is not good enough for Miss Gray nor for anyone else. May God shield , strengthen and have mercy on CB. May He direct Mr Bondad to the only rock-solid hope he will ever need in this life and in the life to come -- the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
That slow-motion twirl wasn’t the only way that Miss Philippines, a.k.a. the newly crowned Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, turned heads at the 67th Miss Universe pageant competition on Monday [December 17] in Bangkok.
Gray also worked in a tribute to the Mayon volcano of the Philippines with her sparkling crimson gown designed to resemble the swirling red and orange lava that flows down the cone-shaped volcano’s crater.
The 24-year-old [now 25-year-old] crowd favorite’s glowing red dress may have stood out, but the volcano nod captured the attention of only the closest watchers online.
Designer Mak Tumang, the pro behind Gray’s floor-sweeping style statement, shared that the inspiration behind the “lava gown” was indeed the active Mayon Volcano on Facebook.
“The prominent and iconic Mayon Volcano is the penultimate inspiration for this creation. It is dubbed as the ‘perfect cone’ because of its symmetric conical form. Folk tales have it that it was named after the mythological heroine ‘Daragang Magayon’ (Beautiful Lady). Despite its pulchritude is the fact that it is the most active volcano in the Philippines erupting numerous times in the past half a millennium. Catriona can be considered as the modern-day Daragang Magayon. She embodies the Filipina’s beauty, intelligence and burning passion. This lady is definitely on fire! Watch her erupt right before your very eyes and let the lava of grace, goodness and hope flow.”
I truly wanted the Philippines' contestant, Catriona Gray , to win.
I did not want Spain's transgender, Angela Ponce , to win. He is confused about his sexuality. Try as he might, he still is and remains a man who came across as such with his balls missing. His voice gave him away too. Mr Ponce did not place in the top 20, but the show devoted a few minutes to "honoring" him. The wisdom of this world was on display for the world to see and is indeed foolishness as God's Word says it is.
Here are some of the other reasons why I did not want Mr Ponce to win:
