The Winner of the 2018 Miss Universe contest will be crowned in Thailand on Sunday, December 16th. 

The current title holder is Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters (South Africa).  Her boyfriend is American athlete, Tim Tebow.

I am proud of the fact that the Philippines has snagged the title of Miss Universe three times.  I pray that these ladies are as beautiful inside as they are/were on the outside:

Pinay Beauty Contest Winner 2018

My uncle from Texas says he's known this lovely young lady since she was little. Imagine that! 

I also know someone who won in a beauty/talent contest when she was young (local, amateur level) -- my youngest Sister! Yet when I offered to dust-off and send her the old Trophy,  she quickly said NO, thank you. I could feel her shudder across cyberspace.   Please get rid of it, she added.

Why the hostility?! Definitely not a fond memory for her. I could hazard a guess as to why but dropped the subject.
