28 Mirrors That Will Make You Stop and Stare

These colorful options are anything but bland- by Domino Magazine

In everyday life, we treat mirrors as a tool to help us get a look at ourselves, not as something to look at. They’re handy in the morning when you need to swipe on some lipstick or want to take one last peek at your outfit before rushing out the door, but you rarely stop to think about this utilitarian accessory in its own right.
It’s especially true of more modern and minimalist mirrors that aren’t weighed down by bulky, ornate frames. But what if you treated your mirror as something that’s also nice to gaze at in and of itself? What if it’s just the dose of color your routine needs? We found 28 bright options to get you started.

Floor & Wall Mirror: Out With the Old, In With the New

Walls  were torn down for an "open concept" space. Change -- even good ones -- can at times be difficult. We will miss the old, full-height mirror that has withstood our busy household and faithfully reflected our family's various fashion and hair do's over the years.  Pup Bubbles remembers.

But the room brightens up and seems larger... and we still love mirrors.  Thank God for resale shops. Out with the old large mirror, and in with the new.

I Want an Antique Floor Mirror

The One Item Nate Berkus Swears By for Making a Space Look Bigger - Domino Magazine

If you can fit it into your budget, a big mirror will add instant drama and does the trick of opening your home's space.

I  recently went into my fave resale shop and happen upon a large mirror.  Not an antique and scratched in spots, but for the price of $12 it was worth the purchase. Thank God for son's help in loading it into my car.

Domino Magazine:  Time to hit up your local thrift shop: You need a vintage mirror. Aside from adding charm and a certain old-school flair that’s guaranteed to be a conversation-starter, these pieces are a great way to fill up an empty wall when traditional artwork won’t do. Small-space dwellers will note another benefit of large mirrors—they open up a room and make it feel instantly larger.

Mirrors That are Good Enough to Hang as Art

Who does not love a pretty mirror?!!  Why not let them double as fine art too?  Some can cost an arm and a leg (mine were quite affordable).  Remember, there is always an option B, or an option C if you're watching your budget.

Trending: Bathroom Re-do Must Have

I didn't read the Domino Magazine article until after my bathroom renovation product choices had been made, but I  nailed it nonetheless.

Who would have thunk?!

Your vanity is about to get a major upgrade. By: Anna Kocharian

As far as bathroom trends go, we've seen it all: Floor-to-ceiling tilesconcrete basins, and an array of paint colors that go on to inspire. But one decorative staple within the space has yet to see much of a refresh. Well, that is, until now.

While it may be a commonly overlooked piece, it has the power to completely transform the aesthetic of the room. No, we're not talking about the tiling (although, some come pretty close) but, a more cost-effective swap that can really go the distance, design-wise. The item in question is the vanity mirror, and it's not your standard wall-to-wall piece or basic medicine cabinet.

We've seen a major uptick of bathrooms decked with oval mirrors—a welcome departure from the standard square variety we've come to be accustomed to—and needless to say, the look exudes pure elegance.

Ahead, we look to the bathrooms, which have successfully carried out the trend with effortless ease plus, a handful of tips for how you can recreate the look at home. Take a look.

Only found one oval, jewelled mirror at my local Hobby Lobby store. Had to call several stores before locating another from over 20 miles away. Hubby was a doll for his willingness to drive there after a hard day's work. Also very happy about their 50% off clearance price.  Mirror is sold out.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

I spoiled myself with macarons recently. Delish!  And the hole-in-the-wall place had the most beautiful round wall-mirror. I remember it having lots of circles. Which of these was it?
"Raindrops" mirror via Horchow.com @ $595

Cooper Classic Arden by lampsplus.com @ $258

"Mirrored Circles" by Horchow.com @ $150

eBay: Shopladder @ $ 539.96
As the days went by and many many pictures of mirrors later, I felt more confused.  So much for my legendary memory, lol. I had to go back to the store and take a picture. In reality, this is what it looks like. The search for the exact mirror was on!

I found it sale-priced on the internet. It's a lot of bling for the buck; much better priced than the other mirrors above; and a longer-lasting investment than the macarons. Here it is on our very own wall.  I am pleased!

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;
prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves,
how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
