Art Matters: TV Artist Bob Ross & Afro Hair

Post is in honor of the late television Artist, Bob Ross , whose birthday is October 29.
Same date as our son's b-day, yay! Son is pictured  below with a "Bob Ross" Afro'ed kitty (a much-appreciated gift from a loving sibling, LoL).

Cool Art Gallery in Frankfurt Germany

Rรถtzel & Co:  The Art store is located close to the Iron Bridge.  It sells Art and does framing services.  This display window drew us in. We laughed over the lady, teasing our son that he must have been the model, LoL.

Our visit to the store was another good memory of Frankfurt, Germany.  Alas, a google search revealed that the store has permanently closed, sigh. At least I got to purchase one item that I really liked (combines whimsy and cute Pups).  Now, let's get Europe re-opened so we can visit again!

Fine Art: Agnes Rathonyi

A few of my sibling & hubby's awesome and vast collection of Canadian Agnes Rathonyi fine Art is below.

Sis and hubby have curated their collection so well that we are among others who have also begun collecting Agnes' artwork based on the tasteful collection they've displayed at their home.

Fine Art: David Geffen, Billionaire Birthday Boy

pc: pbs

I first became aware of who David Geffen is during the 1970s when news broke out that he and newly-separated-from-Sonny Cherilyn Sarkisian (aka,
Cher)  have begun dating. He had plenty of hair back in the day. She later dumped him, and referred to him as a short guy.  Well, he may be short but he is also super-rich, powerful, and gay. Plus, he's quite an Art collector.

After making many millions from the sale of his home/property (The Jack Warner Estate) to fellow-billionaire Jeff Bezos, Geffen turned around and re-purchased an old painting which he had sold in 1985. It's called, "The Splash," by David Hockney; purchase price, $30 million.  Mr Geffen's 77th birthday is February 21. Is this perhaps a birthday gift to himself?

Geffen, who Forbes has estimated is worth just more than $9 billion, had previously owned the 1966 piece of art but sold it in 1985, the outlet reported, citing Sotheby’s. Prior to the most recent sale, “The Splash” was owned by Chinese billionaire and art collector Joseph Lau. - Fox News

My Agnes Rathonyi Art Collection Increaseth

Summertime had my sisters sending me pictures of our fave Canadian Artist's various works during a yearly festival which they were attending.

I texted about this little piece of original art which had my favorite shade of green in it.
Alas, I was told that it was bought by someone else by the time my Sibs got around to inquiring about its price and availability on my behalf.  Darn.

I had a feeling that one of my sisters had purchased it for herself as she also likes the same shade of green.  I was right --- she did purchase it -- for ME!!!!  It was my belated Birthday gift which she gave on Christmas eve.  I was beyond stunned and happy.  She and her hubby are soooo generous. Praise the Lord!  Here it is on our Art Gallery wall.
