I Want a Retro-style Schaub Lorenz Refrigerator

I was pleasantly surprised to see this beauty ensconced at our son and DIL's kitchen/apartment. How did they know that I was on the lookout for a retro-style refrigerator?  Our future mid-century style (or as close as I can get it) kitchen would look great with one. Now here was an example, live and in color! And RED was at the top of my color list.  Quite uncanny of them, LoL.

 I had never heard of the brand, Schaub Lorenz (German), but it is now on my radar.  I will need to see prices and accessibility; compare them to those brands that I am a little bit familiar with, namely super-expensive  S M E G.

Albert Einstein's Wisdom Pays Off Bigtime in Auction!

Wise words from Physicist, Albert Einstein who passed away 63 years ago (April 18, 1955).

Usually, when workers are looking for tips, they don't mean advice.  But sometimes it can prove quite valuable.

In November 1922, Albert Einstein was traveling for a lecture series, during which he'd been awarded the Nobel prize in Physics.  While staying at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, he received a delivery, but didn't have money to tip the courier.  So he jotted a message, written in German, signed it, and handed it to the messenger:  "A calm and humble life will bring more happiness than the pursuit of success and the constant restlessness that comes with it."

Last year at auction, the handwritten note sold for $1.56 million.

Physicist Albert Einstein's Birthday

Today's post is in honor of Albert Einstein's date of birth, March 14, 1879.  His intellectual abilities go far above what I possess; his writings I can not say I completely grasp. He was one, smart man! Here are a couple of his quotes that I'd read recently that I *do* understand.

God doesn't play dice with the universe.

The lot is cast into the lap;
but the whole disposing thereof
is of the LORD
(Proverbs 16:33)

If I were not a Physicist, I would be a Musician ...

Sweets from Germany

Surprised!
Our oldest son made an unexpected appearance at our front door when he should have been 5000 miles away.  I had just been to his old bedroom and had felt nostalgic. Sigh.
A half-hour later, there he was in real life! I didn't care about the why, what, where, or when... only that he was home and I could hug him. I felt thrilled, thankful, amazed. This must have been how the prodigal son's father felt.    Even the dogs & cat got so very excited. He also came bearing delicious gifts.  Oh, joy! Thank You, Jesus!!
