The New, Pretty Billionaire

"Not bad for a girl with no talent." - KK

With KKW Beauty and popular shapewear firm Skims, Kardashian West’s net worth increases to $1 billion, earning her a spot on Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List.

Forbes

When Kim Kardashian West was first mentioned in the pages of Forbes in 2011, it was simply a tally of her Twitter followers: 6.6 million, just below Barack Obama and just above Ashton Kutcher. Five years later, she graced the cover of Forbes thanks to her booming mobile game, which helped her earn $51 million that year. Now, she officially joins the World’s Billionaires list for the first time.

Forbes estimates that Kardashian West is now worth $1 billion, up from $780 million in October, thanks to two lucrative businesses—KKW Beauty and Skims—as well as cash from reality television and endorsement deals, and a number of smaller investments.FORBES

BEST PLACES TO RETIRE IN EACH STATE- Forbes Magazine , By William P. Barrett, edited by Janet Novack

Most folks who move in retirement chose to stay within the same state. In recognition of that fact, Forbes has created its first list of the Best Places To Retire In Each State. We’ve picked a best and a runner-up for each and every state—even those we have avoided in our annual nationwide Best Places To Retire list due to their high costs and state taxes. Still, three-quarters of the 100 places we identify have median home prices below the national average of $269,600. In every place write-up, we’ve included information on taxes, just in case you’re looking to make an interstate move.

True, some of the 100 places on our list, including Athens, GA; Colorado Springs, CO; Fargo, ND; and Pittsburgh, PA, are among our perennial retirement places favorites. But a good number, including Columbus, IN; Homer, AK; and Northampton, MA, haven’t appeared on any other Forbes retirement list.

Old Woman Dozing by Nicolaes Maes (1656)

We compiled our list of the Best Places To Retire In Each State by comparing data on more than 650 places across all 50 states. Generally, we looked for relatively affordable places (as measured by median home price and cost of living) with high quality of retirement living and populations of 10,000 or more (except for our top Alaska pick, Homer, population 6,000). The key word when it comes to affordable is “relatively”. Some states, especially in the Northeast and along the West Coast, are just a lot more expensive than others.

When it came to judging quality of life, we looked at a range of factors. Among them: doctor availability, the serious crimes rate, ranking on the Milken Institute list of best cities for successful aging, air quality and walkability and bikeability. Since this is a retirement list, we ignored data on local school districts. But the presence of colleges was considered a plus, as that tends to expand cultural and other amenities for senior citizens.

Personal Success in Year 2018

As I get older, I realize that much more how fleeting the time and how wasteful the hostilities & bad habits.

Goals remain that are yet to be reached. One of them is renovating our downstairs bathroom. We've talked about it for years! Our budget remains limited; but it's time to get a hold of this problem and just.do.it.

Here are some ideas from FORBES  on how to reach goals successfully in Year 2018 and beyond.

by Jennifer Cohen
Continual activity directed towards a goal creates a sense of momentum or as I like to say progress. In other words your habits determine your progress and overall your successes and failures. We all have good and bad habits that are derived from the relatively small decisions we make every day. In turn, our habits are directly correlated and caused by our minuscule day to day choices.
Success is actually a short race - a sprint fueled by discipline just long enough for habit to kick in and take over.” - Gary Keller, The One Thing
Instead of hearing about habits from me I figured I would pick the brains of those far smarter than I. Amazing people like, Elon Musk, Gary Keller, Napoleon Hill, Stephen R. Covey and more!
Habit 1, From The One Thing
Cut The Crap. What Do You Really Need To Get Done?
In a world of constant stimulation everything can feel like it is an immediate priority. A common mistake many make is falling victim to too much opportunity and for lack of a better word, distraction. Trying to do too much at any given time forces you to not give projects the time and dedication they need to be done exceptionally well. As Gary Keller states in The One Thing “Success is about doing the right thing, not about doing everything right.” Although many things will pull at you throughout your day you must narrow your focus to the one thing you need to do to make progress in your goals. I talked about progress and the massive life changing power behind it in my last article!
How to do it:
Gary Keller’s advice for fighting distraction is to start blocking your schedule. For example allocate 3 hours every morning from 9am to 12 in order to do your one thing. Don’t allow emails, kids, eating, or anything else to distract you from getting this important work done. Those can come before or after but NOT during. “Where I’d had huge success, I had narrowed my concentration to one thing, and where my success varied, my focus had too.” - Gary Keller
