How much taller my Fiddle Leaf plant 💚 has grown! I am very happy 😀😄

 I hope it continues to thrive.  If there's any "secret" it would be my parking it and leaving it in front of a large window which allows bright, but not hot, natural sunlight.  Plus fertilizer, of course.

A commonly tricky houseplant despite its popularity, the fiddle-leaf fig does not respond well to being moved, especially from a spot where it is thriving. Being a tropical plant, it does not tolerate cold temperatures well or survive prolonged freezes. Proper drainage, adequate sunlight (direct but not harsh), and misting with water will help keep your fiddle-leaf fig bright green with its signature glossy finish. -- wikipedia

Costco: Begonia Flower Plant Fail!

I ordered these pre-planted Begonias from Costco's website in late April 2022. Beautiful! I also ordered Oriental Lillies. 

I had in mind the perfect spot for these Begonias by my front door. I was very hopeful after reading Costco's online description:

Put this planter outside after the last frost for summer color. The easiest way to create stunning natural displays in your outdoor spaces; no green thumb needed. These begonias produce overflowing double ruffled blooms in bright colors. Begonias are continuous bloomers meaning  you will enjoy their flowers until first frost. For the best results, remove spent blooms to promote new buds and fertilize monthly. Open the lid, add water and watch nature explode into a remarkable long lasting display of color.

Both plants arrived soon after placing my order.  I kept them indoors till the weather was warm enough, hoping to avoid frost. I set both plants outdoors on the same day.

Summer 2022: CJOY 30" Ceiling Fan

Amazon find by hubby!  The bedroom/office where we installed this small,lighted ceiling fan is 10 by 10-feet ... slightly bigger than the ideal 9 by 9-foot room CJOY recommends. 

I just want it to be quiet and sufficient to keep hubby cool while working at home; or our grandkids comfortable while asleep during their visit this summer, Lord willing.  The price was reasonable at $130. Made in China 😐 

BTW, my cuter choice -- but of a completely different style --would have cost us almost $900 thru Costco.

BARK: Kirkland Dog Park Party Pack

Our Pup needed more toys. I noticed his love of crinkly sounds, but he, unfortunately, likes to tear things apart. 

A quick search led me to this:  A 4-piece, inexpensive ($21.99) set. Each is a SQUEAKER, packed with FLUFF, and CRINKLE - yay! Their sturdiness will reveal itself in time.

I bought my beautiful  brilliant diamond stud earrings via Costco.com

 I can not fully capture their brilliance and  beauty thru my phone camera, but you get the idea. I really like them. They glimmer.  They are  reasonably priced.  The diamonds  total 1.40 ct. 

I do not see them on the website as of the writing of this post. They sell out sometimes, I suppose.

Jewelry: My Favorite Gold and Diamond Rings

 I favored Rings as personal jewelry in the past --- back  in the day when my hands were youthful 😁

 I now lean towards designer bracelets/watches as they are bigger (more gold content) in size. Older, yet wiser, and more-bang-for-the-buck, maybe?!

Most of my Rings are now kept in the bank safe, but seeing them again brings back happy memories.

Announcement: No More Face Mask or Face Shield Required, Hoorah!!!

Dear Costco Member,

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control recently announced new guidance regarding COVID-19 and vaccines. Among other things, the CDC now says that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask in most settings, except where required by state and local laws. People are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine.

Based on this new guidance regarding vaccine effectiveness, beginning May 14, 2021, we are modifying our policy regarding face coverings in some U.S. Costco locations.

U.S. locations with no state or local mask requirements - revised policy
In Costco locations where the state or local jurisdiction does not have a mask mandate, we will allow members and guests who are fully vaccinated to enter Costco without a face mask or face shield. We will not require proof of vaccination, but we ask for members’ responsible and respectful cooperation with this revised policy. Face coverings will still be required in healthcare settings, including Pharmacy, Optical, Hearing Aid. Costco continues to recommend that all members and guests, especially those who are at higher risk, wear a mask or shield.

U.S. locations with state or local mask requirements - no policy change
In those Costco locations where the state or local jurisdiction does have a mask mandate, we will follow the state or local regulations and continue to require members and guests to wear a face mask or face shield. Children under the age of 2 are exempt. If a member or guest has a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask, they must wear a face shield.

As before, our goal is to continue to provide a safe shopping environment for our members and guests and to provide a safe work environment for our employees, while following public health advice and applicable laws.
