Toilet Paper TP Shortage Yet Again??!

If I had been wise and installed add-on or stand-alone bidets during our recent bathroom renovation, I would pay no heed to these rumors.  Anyhoo, I took this recent news seriously and ordered not only more TP, but paper towels as well. I also ordered more TP for the church since we had volunteered to be in charge of bathroom supplies

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The great toilet paper shortage of 2020 is threatening an encore.

Brazilian company Suzano SA, the world's largest producer of wood pulp, warns of supply issues in the weeks ahead because of the giant cargo container ship blocking traffic in Egypt's Suez Canal -- a critical global trade route, Bloomberg reports.

Wood pulp is the raw material used for various paper products, including toilet tissue...

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 )

Good Ideas: Hair Care During the Pandemic Using Common Items

If you are like me in these times of the  Covid19  pandemic, you've had plenty of time pondering do-it-yourself hair-care ideas as appointments with a Hairdresser are not as easy to make. (I especially miss the inexpensive local Beauty School in my neighborhood which had to close down!)

What to do? Here are a couple helpful helps (via FB) that you may never have considered. (NOTE: Take/Do/Follow  at your own risk).

1. Budweiser Beer conditions the hair

2. Cool Whip will condition your hair in 15 minutes

3. Mayonnaise will KILL LICE;  it will also condition your hair. (Will this work for dog fleas?)

4.  Use Lipton Tea for shiny hair

Travel: Food That Was Served on Turkish Airlines During Covid-19

Whether Brown-Bagged or Boxed:  We flew to Istanbul, Turkey on Turkish Airlines.  We flew a total of 6 times on Turkish Airlines (or its affiliates) during our recent European trip. Our meals were Chicken, Chicken, and more Chicken. They were consistent, indeed -- no choices  were given. Take it, or leave it.  No tea nor coffee neither. Just bottled water. Welcome to the new normal.

COVID-19: Christians, You are Surrounded by the Enemy! They That Be With Us are More

Good morning all,
Katie’s church in Indy is live streaming their Sunday service. The pastor and worship team are on site, but the rest of the church family is home. We enjoyed the sermon and then had our own time of singing and then remembered the Lord in the breaking of bread.

The message was encouraging. Taken from 2 Kings 6:8-17 where the King of Aram is warring against Israel and is mad at Elisha specifically because he is giving his plans away to the king of Israel; he sent his armies to the city of Dothan where Elisha was and surrounded the city.  Elisha's servant saw the armies and was a afraid.  Elisha encouraged by telling the servant those that were with them were more than that were in the king's armies.

[The Pastor] likened the armies of the king of Aram to the coronavirus - making us feel like we are surrounded by the enemy!  They pulled encouragement from the situation.

First - We can respond to the what we see.  Elisha's servant saw the armies and feared

Second - We can respond to what we perceive.  There is a lot of things being said and reported that can make us uncertain of the situation

Third - We can respond to what we can't see.  We can remember that the Lord has promised to be with us and lead and guide us.  He never said there would not be difficult times, but that HE would be with us in them.  Elisha asked the Lord to 'open his servants eyes to he could see'. When the Lord responded the servant saw the mountains were full of horses and chariots of fire!

Let's remember that God is still God ad on the throne!

Stay well,

COVID-19: Shop Small via Instagram, Part 1

Doing my part to support small businesses during this season of Coronavirus. White Pine Vintage is a one-woman operation that has an account on IG.

Found her through word-of-mouth via one of the people I follow.  I ordered thru her website for her beautifully-scented hand-poured candles. I do not know much else about Katai  (and vice versa) other than my personal orders and her daily posts on Instagram. You will notice that she is a hard worker and has a good nose for scents. You be the judge, but I give her a thumbs-up so far for her popular candles.

Living Like Y2k In a Covid-19 World

Our state's  Shelter-in-Place declaration has been heeded and started off with a bang as Hubby felt very motivated to clean and organize.  Overstuffed, disorganized, messy storage room be gone! We found soap, toilet cleaner, air fresheners, home decor, photos, Epsom salts, candles, Starbuck's tea, and food!!  Lookeee here: 2-pound cans of unopened, vacuum-filled dehydrated veggies from our stockpile of Y2K food.  Three cans of mixed vegetables, 1 can of Carrots, and 1 can of  Broccoli -- all canned in 1999.

These foods are sometimes touted to last maybe 25 years; but do we trust these online posts??  Our answer is yes.  Our cans were never opened, not bulging; kept in a cool, dark spot;  did not smell rancid nor look discolored.  Might do other posts on recipes using these.

However, Do Your Own Research if in a similar situation or uncertain;  and proceed at your own risk.

Shelf life estimates are based on industry studies from sources deemed reputable. Since individual storage practices and conditions will vary, Food Assets and the canneries must disclaim any liability or warranty for particular results.
* Products that contain yeast (leaven) should be considered as having a shorter shelf life than products that do not contain this ingredient. There are active enzymes in leaven, which create carbon dioxide gas, the same gas used in food storage (dry ice method). The gas is harmless to food. Leaven by itself has a 2 year shelf life (see Yeast above).
