Lufthansa Airlines: Our Flight to Frankfurt Germany

Our check-in for the Thursday, 4 pm flight was a smidge complicated as I forgot to copy our Covid19 test paperwork.  Had to go to a nearby Hilton Hotel business center for our printing needs.  Done.

Felt slightly and uncomfortably  "famous" as one of the Lufthansa check-in clerks (doubling at gate check-in also) remembered my mini melt-down πŸ˜–πŸ˜• ("oh, you're THAT couple!").  Hope no one took a video πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜πŸ˜‘πŸ˜€

Cool Art Gallery in Frankfurt Germany

RΓΆtzel & Co:  The Art store is located close to the Iron Bridge.  It sells Art and does framing services.  This display window drew us in. We laughed over the lady, teasing our son that he must have been the model, LoL.

Our visit to the store was another good memory of Frankfurt, Germany.  Alas, a google search revealed that the store has permanently closed, sigh. At least I got to purchase one item that I really liked (combines whimsy and cute Pups).  Now, let's get Europe re-opened so we can visit again!

Birkenstock Shoes: Shopping in Germany

It's so ugly it's hip!
Was walking through the crowded Frankfurt Marketplace (just days before the even more crowded Frankfurt Christmas Market was to take place), when youngest Sis pointed out the store. Her teen daughter wanted a pair of authentic Birkenstocks.  Her knockoffs were from Target, eeek.
Went into stoew with them. Whoa. Why was I never a fan till that moment?! ('coz I had thought of them as too stodgy, that's why).

Thanks to the help & suggestions of son's hip college-aged friend, pictured in the plaid dress below, I am now a first-time Birkenstock owner.  Purchased  an Arizona in black patent at a discount (approx. $67 vs $99 in USA).

Unbeknownst to me, teen Niece also chose an Arizona

Maritim Hotel, Frankfurt Germany

Our clean, beautiful room

Maritim Hotel is a 4-star hotel located in Frankfurt. We spent the last 2 nights of our stay in Germany here.  We were so tired by this point that neither hubby nor I minded the twin beds. Quiet rooms. Clean.  Comfortable. Warm blankets.  Beautiful views, good/safe location, and bargain-priced.  Nearby is the Festhalle  arena.

Highly recommend. Hearty thumbs-up all the way!
