Year 2020: What Can God's Hand Do?

Ponder these:   A.  God's hand Can be HEAVY

But the hand of the Lord was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof. (v 6)

And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the Lord was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts. (v 9)

So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there. (v 11) ... 1 Samuel 5

B.  God's hand cares for the Believer
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me. Psalm 3:5

"It's as if God's hand was David's pillow." - Dr John Feinberg, 07.08.2018

And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. Isaiah 46:4

Smash. Wham. Bam

Throw-back Thursday
 God's faithfulness to provide

It's a miracle!  Someone in our household (I'm not naming names, but the Perp was neither one of us Parents) rear-ended a BMW. We are forever grateful to God that no one was killed or hurt. However, we had no collision coverage for our bargain-basement CV.  The search for an affordable, yet adequate repair was on! Thank God for hubby who is willing to step out of  his comfort zone. Who else would scour Craigslist, hire a complete stranger working out of his one-car garage in Chicago, and pay him 1/3 of the estimated cost of repair in cash?!! But, lookeee here:  unlike our other fool-hardy "investments", this repair guy came through. Within 36 hours. For half the cost!
The car may not be perfect, but it's GORGEOUS to us. Thank You, Lord Jesus!

Brand-new to us CV

Smashed soon after!

College Graduate: Congratulations, Kristi

From her college days, to today, the Lord God has been gracious to our DD Kristi. It's been a long 5-years, but she has finally completed her Bachelor of Music Degree as of Friday, August 21, 2009. Today, August 24, 2009, begins her career as a Professional Music Therapist. Her graduation ceremony will be held at ISU this coming December 2009, Lord willing. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. ~ Psalm 36:5

Endorphins and Temporary Blindness Cause Pedestrian Accidents

Bent handlebar
Ruined!

The 28-year-old female driver had just finished her workout at the gym. She looked right, and then left; and claimed she saw nothing. She took her foot off of her car brakes, and went forward. Unfortunately, Camille and her bike were in her path. The car hit Camille's left thigh and knocked her off of the bike. She broke her fall with her hand, but her helmet flew off. When she hit the ground, she also slid AWAY from the bike. This was a miracle - an act of mercy from God - as it spared her from serious injury because the bike ended up under the car's front wheels. She'll definitely need a new bike. She was sore, bruised, scraped, and scratched. She felt shaken. She even felt guilty. But, she was ALIVE!

Cars screeched to a halt and concerned people ran to the scene. The stupid/in-attentive driver was hysterical and weepy, raising her own heart rate to 158 beats/minute (she was wearing a monitor on her wrist). The police and paramedics were there within minutes. By the time of my arrival, things had calmed down. The driver was issued a ticket for hitting a pedestrian (a $140 fee), and we got copies of the paramedics' and police reports. Camille refused transport to a hospital.

ETA: This morning, Camille was stiff and still in pain.
The guilty party must have had a restless night. She must have alerted her insurance company as a representative called us for more information.
I feel a need for closure.
Stay tuned.
