Ray Bolger, Actor from The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow)

This post is in honor of a movie character who represents what all living things need -- a brain! 

 Actor,  Ray Bolger, was born on this day (January 10th) in the year 1904.  He played the "brainless" scarecrow in the classic movie,  The Wizard of Oz.  

Saw the above original piece of Art at my Neurologist's office wall.  A unique birthday gift painted by his daughter's boyfriend. Whoa, how nice, I thought.

After a split-second of almost imperceptible hesitation from Doc, he answered with a non-answer 😄

Doctor:  He is *certainly* a talented guy.

Actor / Singer, Andy Griffith, was born on June 1st, 1926. 
 I loved watching reruns of The Andy Griffith Show while growing up (having recently-arrived at the good ol' US of A). I still love the show and so do some of my kids. It's watched almost daily thru Amazon Prime.

I never knew until recently that there are lyrics to the show's theme-song, "The Fishing Hole." I loved it being whistled! But now, here is Andy singing the show's opening theme song. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday, Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger!

By the grace and mercy of God, Ex-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has another birthday (as of this writing, and in spite of 2 recent incidents involving people of malicious intent)!

He was born on July 30, 1947; making him 72 years old (really??!).

Do not mess with him, his possession, nor his body guard.  The alleged bike thief earned his lesson, that's for certain.

Things became heated in Venice, California on Friday when a man allegedly tried to steal Arnold Schwarzenegger's bicycle.

In video posted to Instagram by an onlooker, the 71-year-old actor's bodyguard drew a taser on a man suspected of trying to take off with the Felt electric mountain bike. 

The confrontation, which took place outside of Gold's Gym, where the former Californian governor was working out at the time, ended with Arnie riding off and his security detail letting the alleged thief go.

 Who can forget DeVito's despotic character, Louie De Palma,  in the tv show,  "Taxi"?!!

Louie is the main antagonist of the sitcom. The vain head dispatcher of the Sunshine Cab Company, Louie spends his time holding court inside the caged-in dispatch office at the garage, arguing with and bullying the drivers. He not only lacks morals, he is openly proud of his misdemeanors and outright crimes. Louie will do anything to benefit himself, from taking advantage of a drunken friend of his on, off girlfriend Zena Sherman (played by DeVito's real-life wife Rhea Perlman), to gambling with a young boy, to stealing from the company, to even spying on Elaine while she is changing (almost costing him his job). He lives with his mother (DeVito's real mother, Julia, in two episodes). On very rare occasions he helps his workers, as in the episode in which a cruel hairstylist (played by Ted Danson) gives Elaine a garish makeover just before a very important event, it is Louie who bolsters her confidence to confront him. Anniversary: James Dean, Actor

It's been 63 years (September 30, 1955) since the actor, James Dean, passed away in a car crash. His iconic red jacket which he wore in Rebel Without a Cause (pictured below) was up for auction earlier this year, but it did not meet the reserve price.

Guy and Pip License Plate: Happy Birthday Nora Aunor!

I have a strong feeling that the car owner is from the Philippines.

"Guy" refers to actress Nora Aunor (birthday, May 21st) and "Pip" is actor Tirso Cruz III . They were a mega-popular couple back in the day.

Nora was a nobody -- born poor, but catapulted to fame & fortune thru her singing ability.  Tirso sang also; so handsome that every girl from Housemaid to Grandma had a crush on him.  If Nora the plain-looking girl could attract such a handsome prince,  there was hope for the rest of us common folk. Sort of reminds me of the  Meghan Markle and Prince Harry romance, LoL.

Hollywood: Living in a Bubble, Part 1

There is no easy cure for the L.I.B. syndrome which ails certain Celebrities and Liberals.

Would it help if they knew the possible modern cause of L.I.B?  Maybe, but I think delusional living has been around since way before the 1970s ... since the beginning of time, actually. I myself can catch it easily, especially when I am in a proud, contemptuous mood.

 Pauline Kael Syndrome:

When President Nixon was reelected in a landslide in 1972, film critic Pauline Kael famously said in disbelief, "I live in a rather special world.  I only know one person who  voted for Nixon.  Where they are I don't know.  They're outside my ken.  But sometimes when I'm in a theater I can feel them."

Her statement has come to symbolize the insulation of the liberal elite, living in a bubble and hearing only the opinions of fellow liberals.  It has become known as Pauline Kael Syndrome  and its most virulent strain has been discovered in the late 2016, complete with paranoid delusions of Russian hacking.

Liberals are so committed to their ideology that they confuse it with morality or religion.  It often takes the place of moral objectivity in their lives.  If you disagree with a liberal, it's not merely a disagreement; you are morally wrong and mean to do harm to the world.  Trump and his supporters represent not merely a different prescription for what ails the country, but a ghastly evil.  This childish view produces no coping skills, so liberals largely became unhinged in the wake of Trump's historic victory.
