This was an unforgettable convo that impressed me for its truths, honest answers, and a Dad's defense of his oldest son (Elija M).

JJL: Ghandi said he came to love and respect Jesus Christ and would have became a Christian except for all the Christians

Tom M: Yes, but such a charge could be leveled against virtually any group based upon the select conduct of some of its adherents. For this reason, our focus must always remain on Jesus Christ and what he taught, because men and women of any and every creed will eventually disappoint us. Even the Apostle Peter denied Christ three times. Who of us is any better?

JJL:  I'm done with the church

Tom M: I understand, but I am certain that Elijah has never wronged you and so I find the comments out of place here.

JJL: Perhaps you are right. My apologies.  Please convey that to him.  I am sorry

Tom M:  I have been hurt by people in the church many times too and it's fair to say that I have hurt others along the way as well. I don't believe that someone being a Christian is the source of the problem, but rather the sinful nature that continues to operate in every single person (even if that person becomes a Christian). When I consider others at church who have hurt me, I don't view it any differently than if I was at the hospital getting care for my injuries and then someone else who was there for medical care unexpectedly vomited on me. You tend to run into sick people at the hospital. There are a lot of sin sick people at church.

Trumps: BEGIN STANDARD TWO WEEK QUARANTINE JUST LIKE WE DID IN OUR HOME LAST MONTH

 

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately,” Trump tweeted just before 1 a.m. “We will get through this TOGETHER!”

The fact that President Trump and the First Lady have just tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus may just be the best thing that could happen to his campaign. It is an excellent opportunity to show America and the world that that overwhelming number of people who get coronavirus get through it just fine with little to no symptoms at all.

Last month in my house, my son was diagnosed with COVID-19 coronavirus, and for a time he lost his sense of taste and smell, other than that he had no symptoms at all. My daughter and I, who obviously live in very close proximity with him, did not develop coronavirus even after being tested 3 times. After roughly two weeks, my son was tested one last time and that test came back negative. In St. Johns County in Florida where we live, there has been 5,423 cases to date, and 70 people have died, that is a 98.8% recovery rate. Those numbers to me are comforting, not terrifying, and they should be to you as well.

The main stream media enemies of President Trump, I am sure, will use this opportunity to bash him incessantly over the next 24 hours news cycle, but they should be careful because this could likely backfire on them. Now that President Trump and the First Lady have tested positive, he has a unique opportunity to personally demonstrate that COVID-19 coronavirus is not a fear-laden death sentence, and that will give hope to millions of people. That, of course, will drive the radical Left who wish for his death on a daily basis to the brink of insanity. Try as they might, they just can’t seem to stop the Trump Train.

Our two youngest children were unknowingly exposed to their friend who was asymptomatic with Covid-19. They had been  invited to his last-minute h.s. graduation party.  No masks were worn during the 5+ hour event. They ate together; and daughter even soaked and swam in the pool with Nathan. Of course,  final goodbyes were accompanied with hugs.  Yet, neither of our kids  (and none of the other Guests) came down with Corona, thank God.  - RRE

My Cats Are Trained and Forbidden to Do This

Pictures such as the ones below  are a thing of the past.  No more!  After much crying, yelling, and overall bad behavior (and that's just from our kids), we've finally succeeded in training the 3 cats to stay off of our kitchen counters and island. 

Sure, we had to put up with loud hisses, sharp nails, and dirty looks but we did it!  All it took was a decisive NO,  a loud accompanying clap if need be, or a slight bop on the nose if they thought we were not serious. If those did not  do the trick, we firmly took them off the counter and set them on the floor with another  loud NO. It took only a few times until they understood that certain areas  in our house are off limits to them.  It works!  They now rarely get on the counters or island, and we are all that much happier.
