His Dad and brother are still missing, but Emad Mishko Tammo is finally back with his Mom, thank God!

"Thank you, Canada, thank you Steve Maman," Emad Mishko Tamo said, referring to the president of the group The Liberation of Christian and Yazidi Children of Iraq, which orchestrated a campaign to expedite his reunion with his mother.
"I'm happy, I'm very thankful for anyone that had any part in me reuniting with my mom," Emad added through a translator.

Pakistani Christians in Thailand

These Christians are between a rock and a hard place.   They travel to Thailand on a  temporary Tourist Visa to escape death, war or violent threats.  They tend to overstay while in Thailand as it takes a very long time for the UN to process a move  to another country  as a Refugee.  Thailand's legal system does not recognize the Refugee status when they do overstay. Next up -- Prison? Detention Center? Months or years of hide-and-seek?

What to do, what to do?!  Other than praying for the Lord's continued provision, care; and the speeding-up of the Refugee process, here is a way that you can help.

Refugees: Up Close and Personal

They were from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and had fled to Tanzania because their mother was targeted as an enemy of the state for her outspoken support of women's rights.  The entire family of 8 was able to immigrate to Canada as refugees; and after a few years, are now Canadian citizens.  Four of the kids visited their friend WN in town for a long weekend.  She happen to be one of our son's BFFs; and the group willingly and enthusiastically squeezed-in a concert by his Symphonic Band at Wheaton College.   Who cares that their trip from Winnipeg to Illinois took 14 hours,  and that their designated driver had not slept fitfully for 2 nights?!!  There is nothing like the energy level of the youth.  Maybe the two plates of fried rice, Mongolian Beef, and 2 dishes of Chicken at our fave Vietnamese restaurant did the trick.  There was no need for take-home boxes, LoL.

my fave: Papaya Salad
