AIRBNB: Darmstadt, Germany

Throw Back Tuesday Time!   This may have been the occasion that further promoted my love for skylights, large windows, and free-standing bathtubs  πŸ˜€πŸ˜πŸ˜ƒ

❤πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›❤

Our very first rental though AIRBNB! We arrived safely from Chi-town, and this gem was our destination for our first 2 nights. We rented a whole apartment located on the 3rd floor.

Frankfurt
The apartment itself had 3 levels of living space. There were enough beds to house 4 guests. Complete with kitchen, full bath, wifi, cable, and plenty of windows to let the sunshine in.  Its real appeal to me was its modern vibe and airiness; along with its reasonable rental cost. The whole building is owned and designed by a friendly architect married to a hairdresser wife (her shop was in the basement). They also happen to live in the same building, one floor down.

Front of building facing the street.
That's our bedroom and balcony on the third level.

Metal stairs to the apartment's  upper level and catwalk.
Entry/Front door on left

Upper level kitchen

Upper level sitting area; same level as the kitchen.
 Rooms connected by catwalk

Steps to loft area, uppermost level.
View is facing catwalk to the kitchen from upper-level sitting area.

Bedroom (ours), lower level

Another view of the bedroom; balcony, mirror, floor-to-ceiling window.  Faces the main street.

Bathroom's bathtub area, lower level

Outdoor view from kitchen, upper level

Looking down at the backyard from the same kitchen.
We saw a cat "fishing" at the little pond

Flower pot in garden

Maritim Hotel, Frankfurt Germany

Our clean, beautiful room

Maritim Hotel is a 4-star hotel located in Frankfurt. We spent the last 2 nights of our stay in Germany here.  We were so tired by this point that neither hubby nor I minded the twin beds. Quiet rooms. Clean.  Comfortable. Warm blankets.  Beautiful views, good/safe location, and bargain-priced.  Nearby is the Festhalle  arena.

Highly recommend. Hearty thumbs-up all the way!

My Mother of the Groom outfit

By the time you read this, our oldest son is set to marry in a Civil Ceremony in Europe. We can hardly wait!  May the Lord Jesus Christ answer our prayers for us to be present at the wedding; and enjoy the day with him, our new daughter in law, her parents, and their guests.
Anthropologie "Pintura Maxi Skirt" and a  matching blazer

Miu Miu shoes

Awesome multi-color nails

Hair color refreshed

Plus, the all-important legal stuff to get there,

and back

first, and most recent

Other than packing well and completely, I think I'm good to go.
