An Easter Egg-hunt Hint

Our church has had an Easter Egg Hunt for the Sunday School students for as long as I can remember. The older kids hide brightly-colored plastic eggs filled with candy on trees, bushes, pretty much anywhere and everywhere the church grounds. The other children are then dismissed from their classes and let loose to find as many eggs as possible.  The event is a highlight of Spring and a no-fail squeel-inducing great time for the kids. That time of the year is fast approaching (this coming Sunday).  For a change of pace and to make the event a little more challenging,  I have a suggestion ---

Easy-to-Find Eggs of years past

versus
Camouflaged Eggs

The camouflaged eggs are much harder to see. They'll prolong the fun and add to the thrill and challenge of the hunt.What do you guys think?

P.S. Choosing the right-size egg is a must. Too small of an egg will make it a chocking hazard.

It's Easter 2011 !

Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel...
the Apostle Paul, writing to Timothy in the Bible (2 Timothy 2:8)

What the nail during Jesus' crucifixion may have looked like;
 more likely to be thicker, and much more rough and unfinished

Happy Resurrection Sunday, Everyone!

Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him,
 seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them

Nails in our Car Tire

On this Easter 2011 weekend, nails are in the news. These particular nails were discovered  embedded in the wheels of our Crown Vics during a routine check-through yesterday.  Very likely picked up through the many miles logged by each vehicle.  Now we know the source of their sloooooow leaks.

Whew. At least the wheels  did not blow up while the cars were going 65+ miles/hour, on a busy highway, during a slippery rainstorm/snowstorm.    I can only imagine the disasters we may have averted by the mercy of God on us. Thank you, Lord Jesus!

So, to anyone reading this, if your car tires  seem to lose tire pressure repeatedly, have them checked out, 'kay?

RIP: Molly, Madison and Mia

The girls were born prematurely @ approximately 21 weeks gestation.  Their parents chose to have their wake/funeral on Good Friday (yesterday).  I thought it quite appropriate.  What better day for farewells than the day that coincides with Christianity's day of commemorating the Lord's death on the Cross of Calvary?!  There is death, there is sadness and sorrow; But, wait....what's up ahead?   In a couple of days it'll be Easter morning -- when we remember that the Lord is Risen ---  just as He said!  And just as He is now alive forever more, these beautiful Babies are also alive  and present with the Lord.  Take heart, Mike and Maryann, your Babies are alive in the safe, loving hands of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  Hallelujah, what a Saviour!!!!

O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin;
and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God which giveth us victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 15:55-57
