 When you die, don't worry about your body... Your relatives and funeral staff will do it. I know this first hand. I’ve done it myself…

They will take you out of the house and deliver you to the funeral home of your family’s choice.

They will take off your clothes

They will wash you

They will dress you up

They will even apply makeup to make you look presentable

Many will come to the funeral to honor you.

Some will even cancel their plans and ask for leave to go to the funeral.

Your things--things you hate to be borrowed -- will be sold, donated, or burned.

Your keys

Your tools

Your books

Your CDs, DVDs, games

Your collections

Your clothes...

And be sure the world won't stop and cry for you.

The economy will continue.

You will be replaced at work. Someone with the same or even better ability will take your place.

Your property will switch to heirs.

And don't doubt the small and big things you have done in your life will be spoken of, judged, doubted, and criticized.

People who only knew your face will say, ′′Poor thing!"

Your good friends will cry for a few hours or several days, but then they will laugh again.

Your pets will get used to the new owner.

Deep pain in your home will last a year, two, maybe ten... Then you will join the memories and then your story will end.

But your story begins in a new reality... in your life after death.

The things you once have will lose their meaning. You cannot bring your earthly possessions here.

The Bible is clear that no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again (John 3:3).

John 3:18 explains in the simplest terms who will go to heaven and who will go to hell: “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." So, those who go to hell are specifically those who do not believe in Jesus’ name.

Simply, if you receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, by grace alone, through faith alone, you will spend eternity in heaven. If you do not receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, you will be eternally separated from God (Matthew 25:46).

The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

We can choose to trust in Jesus’ payment for our sin, or we can choose to pay for our sins ourselves—but we must remember that the payment for our sin is eternity in hell.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31)

This Year’s Flu Vaccine Was Only 29% Effective

Although health care companies continue to push the flu vaccines onto the American people, they have to get it right, or people are not going to keep using it. Now that the numbers are in, we see that this past year’s flu vaccine was another flop as it proved to be just 29 percent effective. That’s not enough for people to trust it or to turn to it as they gear up to prepare for the worst as reports that next year’s flu season is set to be even deadlier than it was this year.

The CDC reported last Thursday that the flu vaccine administered this past year was just 29 percent effective. Scientists blame the lack of usefulness to the unexpected second wave of H3N2, which is the same flu strain that is currently making Australia sick.

Because the Southern Hemisphere has winter first, their flu season often acts as a predictor to what it will be like in the United States and other countries abroad.

Now that the CDC is working tirelessly to protect the American public from getting the flu – which can kill – they are recommending that people get a flu vaccine that protects them from the H1N1 and H3N2 strains as well as influenza B.

The main reason that the flu vaccine was not effective was that the H3N2 strain popped up in the United States part way through the flu season. The vaccine that had been given out until that point did not protect against that.

Last year 80,000 people died from the flu in the United States. The CDC wants to do much better than that in this upcoming year. That’s why the United States’ government promised to endow the National Institute of Health (NIH) with $1 billion to develop a flu shot that could save lives.

Although the billion dollars was given to the organization in the hopes that they could develop a universal flu vaccine health officials are worried that such a feat might never be possible, let along in time to beat next year’s deadly flu season.

While last year’s flu shot worked well early in the season with an effectiveness of 47 percent. But when the second, stronger strain started to railroad people across America, the vaccine’s effectiveness dropped to just nine percent.

CDC’s Brendan Flannery admitted that the vaccine offered “no significant protection” against the H3N2 strain.

Every year scientists unite to determine which strains are going to be most prevalent. That’s why vaccines are built to protect people from three or four strains of the virus, the ones predicted to be the most deadly and widespread.

However, scientists cannot always predict the future, and as is the case in the 2018/2019 flu season, the H3N2 strain came out of nowhere.

Flu is particularly challenging for scientists to create a vaccine because the virus can change and adapt so quickly.

Nevertheless, flu shots are recommended for all Americans age six months or older. Although it is not perfect, last year’s vaccine saved an estimated 40,000 to 90,000 people from hospitalization.

Something strange is going on in the once-peaceful tropical country of the Dominican Republic. Known for its lush sandy beaches and gorgeous ocean vistas, a sinister spirit has risen up there and bad things are happening. Instagram influencers are being assaulted, Red Sox star David Ortiz was shot and nearly killed, tourists are visiting top-dollar resorts and dying mysterious deaths. What on earth is happening there? For starters, take a look at this image I found when I googled the term ‘voodoo in dominican republic’

A large number of Dominicans practice voodoo, or “Las 21 Divisiones” which is Dominican voodoo. As you can see, in both Haiti and the in the DR, voodoo is practiced alongside Roman Catholicism as the two have much in common. In the Roman Catholic mass, the eucharist is stored in a container that is ironically called the ‘monstrance’, as in monster. The Catholic priest recites a Latin prayer as an incantation with which he believes will “pull Jesus down’ from Heaven and sacrifice Him all over again. This is where we get the term ‘hocus pocus‘ from. This pagan practice of transubstantiation is right in line with the type of voodoo practiced on Haiti and in the Dominican Republic. In the above photo, you see a Haitian voodoo ceremony being prepared and what do you see right in the middle of everything? A Roman Catholic monstrance. Hmm.

When a spirit rises in a land the way it is right now in the Dominican Republic. you need to stay far away from there. I have a good friend named Craig, and he went to Haiti a few years ago on missionary work, but when he came back his head was spinning from the level of witchcraft and voodoo that went on there. He was in no way prepared for what he saw there, but the Lord kept him safe. People who don’t know the Lord and who aren’t saved are at grave risk in places like the Dominican Republic right now. The people who survived their trips to the DR nearly all have said that there is ‘something strange going on’, they just don’t know what it is. Now you know.

Woman suspects sister’s Dominican Republic death is linked

FROM THE NY POST: The family of a Pennsylvania bride-to-be who died under circumstances similar to those of guests at the Grand Bahía Príncipe resort in the Dominican Republic says it’s “impossible” that her sudden death at a hotel owned by the same company isn’t related.

Yvette Monique Sport, of Glenside, Pa., died from a heart attack in June 2018 during a trip with her fiancé to the Bahía Príncipe in Punta Cana, news station WCAU reported.

“THERE IS SOMETHING … SOMETHING DIRTY AT THE BOTTOM OF ALL OF THIS,” NIEVES TOLD NEWS STATION WTXF. “SHE WAS 51 YEARS OF AGE, RELATIVELY HEALTHY, NO REASON FOR HER TO GO ON VACATION AND JUST DIE SO SUDDENLY.”

Sport had a drink at the minibar in her hotel room, took a shower and “wanted to retire for the evening,” according to her sister. When Sport’s fiancé tried to wake her, he realized she was unresponsive, according to WCAU. “He tried to nudge her again and there was no sound and then she was gone,” Nieves said.

Sport’s situation is strikingly similar to the case last month of 41-year-old Miranda Schaup-Werner of Allentown, Pa. Schaup-Werner also drank from the minibar in her room at the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville resort. Her family said she succumbed to a heart attack hours later on May 25 in the hotel.

Five days later, an engaged couple from Maryland died during their visit to the same resort, officials said. Nathaniel Holmes, 63, and Cynthia Ann Day, 49, were found dead in their room from pulmonary edema and respiratory failure. Nieves said she wants to get in touch with the families of the victims to put pressure on the resort chain to investigate.

“It’s a complete fabrication that you could have as many people and they all have the same cookie-cutter outcome. It’s impossible,” Nieves told WCAU. A rep for the resort didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.  READ MORE

US authorities are scrambling to get to the bottom of a rash

 of deaths of US tourists in the Dominican Republic, with 

the number of reported fatalities over the past year

 now rising to six.

FROM YAHOO NEWS: Three people whose deaths have been confirmed all arrived on May 25 in San Pedro de Macoris, a seaside resort in the south of the Caribbean country, Dominican authorities said. Miranda Schaup-Werner, 41, booked a room with her husband at the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville hotel. She lost consciousness on the day of her arrival after going out on the balcony. She could not be revived by her husband or hotel medical staff.

Cynthia Day, 49, and Edward Holmes, 63, stayed in an adjacent hotel, Grand Bahia Principe La Romana. The couple from Maryland was found dead on May 30 in their room by hotel staff.

According to the Dominican Prosecutor’s Office, the three victims died of respiratory failure and pulmonary edema. Schaup-Werner also had a heart attack.

News of the deaths has drawn attention to earlier deaths of American tourists at island resorts that received no publicity at the time — some now suspect — may have been part of a pattern.   READ MORE

FROM THE NY POST: An Instagram influencer known for traveling around the world with her husband said she was nearly abducted and sexually assaulted during their trip to the Dominican Republic.

Cora Smith — who, with her hubby, Jay, runs the Instagram account The Great Escape Blog, which has 26,000 followers — said she felt compelled to paint a rosy picture online of their three-month jaunt to the DR in 2018.

“You feel this obligation to be honest, but a fear of rejection if you are,” Smith said in an interview with Business Insider. “I didn’t tell my story, and I think it’s out of fear.”

She first shared her harrowing experience in a blog post last year — but said she wanted to make it more publicly known following the recent spate of deaths in the DR and news that a Delaware mom was brutally attacked at a resort there. Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz was also recently shot while sitting at a bar in Santo Domingo.

“It’s not a safe country, and it’s not just the five-star resorts,” Smith said. “I feel like I can’t sit here and listen to the prime minister and say, ‘Our country is safe,’ because it’s not safe.”     READ MORE

Now here are some hard numbers... There are 30,000 gun-related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. The U.S. population is 324,059,091 as of June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.00925% of the population dies from gun-related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! 

 What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death: • 65% of those deaths are by suicide, which would never be prevented by gun laws. • 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified. • 17% is through criminal activity, gang and drug-related or mentally ill persons – better known as gun violence. • 3% are accidental discharge deaths. So technically, "gun violence" is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many?  

Now let's look at how those deaths spanned across the nation.   480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago • 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore • 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit • 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C. (a 54% increase over prior years) So basically, 25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities. All 4 of those cities have strict gun laws, so it is not the lack of law that is the root cause. This basically leaves 3,825 for the entire rest of the nation or about 75 deaths per state. That is an average because some States have much higher rates than others. For example, California had 1,169 and Alabama had 1. Now, who has the strictest gun laws by far? California, of course, but understand, it is not guns causing this. It is a crime rate spawned by the number of criminal persons residing in those cities and states. So if all cities and states are not created equal, then there must be something other than the tool causing the gun deaths. Are 5,100 deaths per year horrific? How about in comparison to other deaths? All death is sad and especially so when it is in the commission of a crime but that is the nature of crime. Robbery, death, rape, assault are all done by criminals. It is ludicrous to think that criminals will obey laws. That is why they are called criminals.

But what about other deaths each year?

 • 40,000+ die from a drug overdose–THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT! • 36,000 people die per year from the flu, far exceeding the criminal gun deaths. • 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities(exceeding gun deaths even if you include suicide). Now it gets good: • 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer walking in the worst areas of Chicago than you are when you are in a hospital! • 710,000 people die per year from heart disease. It’s time to stop the double cheeseburgers! So what is the point? If the liberal loons and the anti-gun movement focused their attention on heart disease, even a 10% decrease in cardiac deaths would save twice the number of lives annually of all gun-related deaths (including suicide, law enforcement, etc.). A 10% reduction in medical errors would be 66% of the total number of gun deaths or 4 times the number of criminal homicides ............ Simple, easily preventable 10% reductions!

So you have to ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things, why the focus on guns? It's pretty simple: Taking away guns gives control to governments. The founders of this nation knew that regardless of the form of government, those in power may become corrupt and seek to rule as the British did by trying to disarm the populace of the colonies. It is not difficult to understand that a disarmed populace is a controlled populace. Thus, the second amendment was proudly and boldly included in the U.S. Constitution. It must be preserved at all costs. So the next time someone tries to tell you that gun control is about saving lives, look at these facts and remember these words from Noah Webster Noah Webster: " Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed. " It’s not the lack of laws, it’s lack of Morality. Johns Hopkins: Medical Errors are third-leading cause of death in U.S.

Analyzing medical death rate data over an eight-year period, Johns Hopkins patient safety experts have calculated that more than 250,000 deaths per year are due to medical error in the U.S. Their figure, published May 3 in TheBMJ, surpasses the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's third leading cause of death-respiratory disease, which kills close to 150,000 people per year.

The Johns Hopkins team says the CDC's way of collecting national health statistics fails to classify medical errors separately on the death certificate. The researchers are advocating for updated criteria for classifying deaths on death certificates.

"Incidence rates for deaths directly attributable to medical care gone awry haven't been recognized in any standardized method for collecting national statistics," says Martin Makary, professor of surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and an authority on health reform. "The medical coding system was designed to maximize billing for physician services, not to collect national health statistics, as it is currently being used."

In 1949, Makary says, the U.S. adopted an international form that used International Classification of Diseases billing codes to tally causes of death.

"At that time, it was under-recognized that diagnostic errors, medical mistakes, and the absence of safety nets could result in someone's death," says Makary, "and because of that, medical errors were unintentionally excluded from national health statistics."

In their study, the researchers examined four separate studies that analyzed medical death rate data from 2000 to 2008. Then, using hospital admission rates from 2013, they extrapolated that based on a total of 35,416,020 hospitalizations, 251,454 deaths stemmed from a medical error, which the researchers say now translates to 9.5 percent of all deaths each year in the U.S.

According to the CDC, in 2013, 611,105 people died of heart disease, 584,881 died of cancer, and 149,205 died of chronic respiratory disease-the top three causes of death in the U.S. The newly calculated figure for medical errors puts this cause of death behind cancer but ahead of respiratory disease.

"Top-ranked causes of death as reported by the CDC inform our country's research funding and public health priorities," Makary says. "Right now, cancer and heart disease get a ton of attention, but since medical errors don't appear on the list, the problem doesn't get the funding and attention it deserves."

The researchers caution that most medical errors aren't due to inherently bad doctors, and that reporting these errors shouldn't be addressed by punishment or legal action. Rather, they say, most errors represent systemic problems, including poorly coordinated care, fragmented insurance networks, the absence or underuse of safety nets, and other protocols, in addition to unwarranted variation in physician practice patterns that lack accountability.

"Unwarranted variation is endemic in health care," Makary says. "Developing consensus protocols that streamline the delivery of medicine and reduce variability can improve quality and lower costs in health care. More research on preventing medical errors from occurring is needed to address the problem."

Comment:

I notion of mistakes are an unfortunate part of human nature.  The only way to avoid them is not allowing oneself to be put in that situation.  Until we resolve the issues of modern medicines over usage of testing, surgery,  procedures and pharmaceuticals, these "mistakes" will continue.   This is an issue Dr. Eisenstein and his mentor Dr. Mendelsohn elaborated on for years.
