Post Wedding Party and Fortuitous Meetings

We could not attend J & S's destination wedding in Mexico last January.  Thankful that their parents gave a small party for the many others who also could not attend. Food was plentiful, home-cooked, and terrific.  Life's simple pleasures are the best!

Anne came up to me at the party and asked how I know the groom's family. She was an MK in India during her youth. Her daughter and SIL are currently Christian missionaries in the PI. She has ties to Wheaton College via her childhood home's close proximity (1 block) to the college. So, of course, I got the address of the house, and had to take a picture.  I will soon send it to her via our mutual friend.

Then, we were introduced to Nate.  He is the source of the pot rack pictured below which was in the kitchen.  I'd been looking for a pot rack, and this style would be PERFECT for us.  Hoping he is a man of his word as he'll try to get one for me at a very reasonable price. Can hardly wait.

Pancake for Lunch

Yesterday (Father's Day) and we were again late for church service, but Kris and Brian drove into the parking lot right behind us.  What a pleasant surprise!  One of my favorite senior-citizen speaker was the main speaker, so the morning was off to a great start.  After the service, K & B invited us out for lunch to celebrate Father's Day! We went to Baker Hill (my first time).

Happy Wedding Anniversary!

It was announcement time:
In honor of Mother's Day next week, all Moms are invited to lunch at Alexanders Restaurant courtesy of the church.
Mr Lee raised his hand and made his own announcement:  ALL are invited!

Turns out that Mr and Mrs Lee will be celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary next week, so they invited everyone to celebrate the happy occasion at the restaurant.  Yessssss!!!!

Championship Football Party!

We had our annual (Superbowl)Championship Football Party last Sunday.  The main course was delicious Chili.  Everything else was just as good or even better.  Table games were available.  Miss Cindy had a bead-making demo (another blog entry).  Tom Marinello, professor from Tyndale Seminary (Netherlands) was in town, and gave a report on his work over there.  Overall, an extremely fun event. However, my team lost....boohoooo.
