The Philippines & Ferdinand Magellan

orange pomander with cloves, wikipedia
In honor of Philippines Independence Day, June 12th.  Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!

I admire the bravery and persistence of these European Explorers. The love of money likely was a great motivator. Their many other sins and flaws only God would know in full. I would leave it up to Him to be the final Judge.

Many Filipino boys are named "Ferdinand".  The most well-known, thus far, is President Ferdinand Marcos.

My Spice Storage space. Feeling much more appreciative of what was once so rare that people took great risks to obtain them.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die,
but after this the judgment ... (Hebrews 9:27)
