I find the MC Hostess Tray beautiful (luv the courtly check black & white pattern!); and useful -- thus not a waste of funds. It promotes neatness as a designated "catch-all" for your things or food items.
Get it on sale if possible (MSRP approx. $200, large). Try eBay as this item is discontinued.
