William Carey had boldness in life because of his confidence in the God of the Bible. This in spite of the extreme hardships thru life's journey which he experienced that included his young child's death and the severe mental problems of his wife.
We are celebrating his date of birth (17 August 1761). and the country of India's Independence Day (August 15). His most famous quote has as its basis the Bible verse below. I love this reminder from God to be brave and to take risks for His sake. Carey certainly took it to heart. He is considered the father of modern missions.

Carey also had this to say as to the secret of his "success" in life. Note: he spent 41 long years in India -- without furlough!!
