Above, Ed Hardy Car Air Freshener
This question was posted on the B V subforum: philosophically speaking, would you get rid of a bag your SO did not like?
My answer was: Yes ... because I respect my DH's opinion.
Let me clarify. (a) Romy has yet to grimace and utter hostile remarks regarding any of my purchases. Therefore, since he's so cool about many of my decisions, I would immediately take notice if something were so offensive to him that he'd react intensely to it. (b) Over time, I've come to respect and and value his opinions. This guy, when push comes to shove, is usually RIGHT ON. For example, he purchased our pre-owned Windstar automobile at a public auction ---at a price above what we agreed upon. He was alone at the time, and I thought, surely, he must have gotten overly excited during the bidding war. What? Pay a premium for an average car with over 100k miles on it??!! Well, guess what? The car, 26k miles later, is running well, and we've had no major problems with it (thank God!). (c) If the situation were reversed and something/someone offended me, or I disliked a particular situation intensely, I would have no doubt in my mind that DH would do the right thing and make a firm decision that would please me.
The car air freshener pictured above says it all.
