Eli: The New Baby Boy in Our Family

Perfect! As cute as can be. Baby Eli was only 2 days "late" unlike his big bro who was over a week past due, lol. 

I like his name. My first thought was of football player, Eli Manning, quarterback of the NY Giants. List of famous ELIs below. 

Thankful to the Lord God for hearing our prayers on behalf of our son's family.

MacKenzie-Childs: MC Farmhouse Kitchen in Honeymoon

The MC farmhouse is used as a 3-story showcase of MacKenzie-Childs' past and current products -- some of which are priceless one-of-a-kind items or items discontinued long ago. 

  The kitchen remains in working order (used by MC employees in the past); and incredibly well-decorated... chock-full of their gorgeous stuff. Style is mostly in pink checks which indicates  their HONEYMOON pattern; or Rose Petal as in their drawer knobs. Courtly Check, Parchment Check, Fish, and their other patterns are also present.  The room is large, bright, and mostly in my favorite color combo of pink (wooohoooo!!) and white. The high-end appliances are by VIKING. 

We toured on our own, so some questions remain unanswered. Daughter went through the house tour twice -- willingly!  Son matched the kitchen with his pink shorts.  No complaints from him neither. Strong central a/c helped a lot, me thinks.

Unforgettable Half-Marathon Race (13.1 Miles) at The North Shore

Daughter is 2nd among our children to run a half-marathon. Her brother  ran the Chicago version in the past while wearing Vibram shoes, ouch!

JRE asked me to sponsor her (read: pay the entrance fees) about 4 months ago. As in Homeschooling, our kids took the initiative and trained/taught themselves how to run a marathon race.

I am quite pleased that they each finished the 13-mile race. I also prayed to the Lord that they would not get injured nor sick while running.  What a pounding their feet, ankles and backs must have taken! The Lord answered prayers;  and also gave them strength, endurance and perseverance.


IMO, What differentiates top marathon Winner(s) from the rest of us common folk would definitely be a person's God-given speed, height, muscle bulk, lung capacity, discipline, experience; and very likely the type and/or length of training. 

The male winner of this race crossed the finish line at approximately 1:09.
The female winner finished at approximately 1:18. No record-breakers this year.
Our DD (made 2 pit stops) and finished at approximately 2:13, yay!! Pace, 10:10 per mile.(If she had not stopped, probably 5 -10 minutes faster).

Why was the event "unforgettable"?  I was in the sightline of one of the official race Photographers. I've been immortalized in some official pictures, hahaha.

Our Double Entry Front Doors with Glass Inserts

I was amazed at the very many outstanding sets of double doors out there, including antiques. I liked the idea of glass inserts for our new doors; either opaque, clear, or with design a-la Tiffany. A google search for prices  showed costs of at least $2k or more, eeek. What to do, what to do?!

So happy that Hubby found our wood mid-century style doors on Craigslist. Used, but in very good condition.  Best part: cost for both doors plus matching storm doors (4 parts total) was less than $100.  Thank God for His provision!  We've since painted the doors' exterior a green-black color. Hubby's Employment Anniversary: Gifts, Peridot and Pizza

The company celebrated with Pizza for lunch for the whole department.

There was so much that other departments had a share; and hubby took home an entire, huge uneaten Sausage pizza which we had for supper that night, yum!

That wasn't all:

A. He got his yearly bonus check $$$.  Because of the anniversary year, he  received the maximum that anyone in the company will ever get -- whether it's 40, 50, or 60+ years of employment, yay! Our upcoming overseas trip's expenses will be less with the money.  I thank God for a useful, timely cash gift.


B. Hubby could have a Recognition Gift of his choosing.  We had gotten a Keyboard, juicer, matching set of luggage, etc. in the past.  Which will it be now when there are, as usual, so very many nice items ?? Some of the choices are pictured below:

It will make for a good match to the 14k gold + peridot stones bracelet we had chosen for his 35th employment anniversary.  The gold link bracelet it is!  Thank You, Lord Jesus Christ.
