Tuesday Talk: Ideas for an Emergency Toilet

I like this useful article; plus it brought back memories of my early years living in a third-world country.  Option number 4 was what we had then.  We used it for years as it was more than adequate.  However, at night, when it got very dark it was more than a little creepy for me 😨

 The Cathole

Cat holes, or personal use holes, are holes you dig in the ground and squat over. Each hole is one-time use.

2. The Latrine Trench

The latrine trench is similar to the cathole, but instead of a hole, you are digging a trench that should be 4 to 6 ft long, 1 to 2 feet wide, and 2 to 2.5 feet deep to work as a makeshift bathroom. - Food Storage Moms

3. The Portable Camping Toilet

All you need is a bucket with a makeshift toilet seat placed on top. Once you’re finished, simply dump the waste in a latrine trench and you’re done. - Food Storage Moms

4. The Outhouse

... You will need to dig a very deep and wide enough hole in the ground, and then build a privacy shed over it with a toilet seat that you install. - Food Storage Mom
