We perused HomeAway vacation rentals in the Spring and held a vote on which Paris house we liked best. This place won. Good reviews, safe location, not too far from Paris, and reasonable cost convinced us. It's a 3-bedroom 2-bath place with a garage.
Our stay of 4-night 5-days cost me and hubby approximately $20/night. Not bad.
Sis and her hubby rented a Ford mini van for our use throughout the entire European trip. Manual stick-shift meant we needed to be extra nice to my BIL since only he knew how to drive one, LoL. He served us well and so did the car. Our portion for the car rental came to $166 for the entire 13 days. Gas expenses were separate; gas cost approximately $7/gallon during our stay.
BELOW: Met the caretaker. He stayed out of our way during our stay, yay, though he lived a stone's throw away.
The front, exterior view of our house rental. When we entered thru the pretty door, I was impressed with the decor & high ceilings. The walls made the rooms seem smaller. I was picturing the entire lower level as a much better open area a-la "Fixer Upper". So American of me. Overall, the house was charming and quite sufficient for the 5 of us.
Kitchen pics. Small space, but almost completely stocked. The house had everything we needed for the most part. Supplies were easy to access as stores/restaurants/banks were only a couple of blocks away. Public transportation was conveniently close also. We used the trains to go into Paris and back -- unforgettable adventures in and of themselves.
Door to the stairs ascending to the upstairs bedroom. The door was located in the kitchen area. Our bedroom was located in the basement. It had good privacy as there were 2 doors between us and the rest of the house.
The black door led to an outdoor patio (too bad it rained and was too cold outdoors during our stay). This house would be great for kids and their parents vacationing during warmer weather! Our cozy BR's door is to the left.
I highly recommend this cute VRBO/HomeAway rental.
This was my 3rd visit to Paris/France (hubby's 2nd). By far, it was the most enjoyable. The company of my beloved Sis and her family made a difference. God would need to open the door for us to travel to Europe together once again.
