Doubletree Hilton: President Abraham Lincoln Hotel, Springfield

We stayed in Room #914 which faced the multi-floor parking garage. We could have parked our Toyota and seen it if we had known ahead of time of our location. The Amtrak station was mere blocks away and train whistles were heard, but not too late into the night. Also heard possibly drunken people in the hallway. Wedding Reception in the house?!!  The sound of the shower on full-blast next door was unmistakable.

No fridge, microwave oven, nor free bottled water.  Otherwise, more than adequate, comfortable, and clean.  Love the orange theme and Abraham Lincoln artwork (this was the Lincoln Hotel, after all). The bathroom wall had a very thickly embossed wallpaper which was attractive.  Asked for two full-size beds because hubby and I both snore, LoL.

Paid over $137 total for one night. I would love to be able to afford a suite or corner room which were likely housed in the upper floors. See link pics below. Pretty sure many out-of-town politicians or politically-connected people have been housed at this hotel because of its location in the capital of the State of Illinois. A room card was needed to operate the elevator.  This, in addition to other measures, would have been more than adequate to ensure safety. Our security system is first and foremost prayers to the Lord Jesus Christ for safety, and personally staying alert.   As usual, He who never slumbers heard us, praise God.
